Hi, my name is Maryam Okhowat. I was born in Iran and lived in Denmark for seven years before moving to Canada. I have worked in different fields, but my passion has always been working with children. I have two sons and a grandson who bring me joy and happiness. I love being around children and spending time with them, as they are so sweet and give you pure love and joy. Children teach us so many wonderful things about life and the world, which is so beautiful and worth enjoying every moment. These beautiful angels remind me to live each day to the fullest and I am grateful to be surrounded by them. In my spare time, I love travelling and spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy swimming and practicing yoga. My favourite colour is blue.
Newstead Academy is located on the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and other Indigenous peoples who have lived here over time. We are grateful to share this land as treaty people who learn, work, and live in the community with each other.
