Hello! My name is Mavis, and I was born and raised in Hong Kong. It is my great pleasure to join the Newstead Academy family! Upon completing my bachelor's degree in social work, I dedicated myself to specializing in elderly care for almost two years as a registered social worker. While my early career years focused on the aged group, I have always harbored a deep passion for working with young children, aiding them to reaching their full potentials and helping them make sense of the world around them. Consequently, upon immigrating to Toronto, I transitioned into the role of an Early Childhood Assistant in a childcare center, where I've had the privilege of working with diverse age groups (18 months to 4-year-olds) and their families. I have gained invaluable insights into all-rounded child development and the necessary skillsets required to work effectively with young children. Being able to witness and assist in children's growth and development always brings me immense fulfillment. I am eagerly looking forward to growing with your little ones at Newstead Academy, creating a nurturing environment for them to learn and develop their unique personalities, and watching them strive and succeed each day!
